This is new volunteering opportunity to support Business Crime in Brighton and Hove. As a volunteer you will be part of the Neighbourhood Policing Team and will support with administrative tasks which will assist this hardworking team and support the prevention of business crime.

The Role & Key Responsibilities
From your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
In this role you will:
• Provide administration support to the wider team including Business Crime and Investigations Teams.
• Support with the creation of audit reports.
• Provide research on good practice/innovation from other forces to the team.
• Engage with businesses and build relationships to promote effective investigation including best use of CCTV to proactively identify offenders
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the team with the administration with QFI (quality focus investigations) – enabling that all jobs are coordinated, so that they are recorded correctly to allow the team to perform an effective investigation.
• Support with the creation of audit reports that enables the force to benchmark against the retail crime action plan and to research good practise from other forces which will improve performance in any areas.
• Support with Business Crime Action Weeks in force – creating content for the comms team and supporting with coordinating officers/staff to support.
• Work with police and partners including BCRP (Brighton Crime Reduction Partnership) to coordinate a proportionate response to Business Crime and Repeat offenders through Operation Apprentice (targeting prolific shoplifters in the city)
• Provide a link between investigating officers/staff in different teams to provide an informed, consistent and coordinated approach
• Monitoring positive outcomes and identify opportunities to progress investigations.
Skills & Experience
• IT proficiency – a sound working knowledge of all Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MS Teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills – attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organisation – ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Previous administration experience is desirable.
Training will be provided on Force systems (Niche and Power BI)
