Hours of Work
6 hours per day, four days on, four days off, between 5.30am and 8.15pm.
Role Responsibilities
1. Work in the hospital’s busy kitchen as part of a large team to maintain a clean and safe environment.
2. Assist in plating up all patient meals.
3. Follow instructions, work independently or as part of a team, and communicate effectively.
4. Achieve the mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
5. Comply with the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
6. Possession of an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable; full training will be provided.

Working Hours Update
NHS Scotland will reduce the full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours starting 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This change will be phased in for some services, and temporary adjustments of up to 30 minutes per week may occur. Please contact the Recruiting Board with any questions.
