The University of Warwick's Estates department is recruiting an experienced Procurement Manager to support their ambitious STEM project, including the development of a £425m Science and Engineering Precinct aimed at fostering interdisciplinary research and teaching spaces.
This role involves managing estates procurement and projects, developing innovative and collaborative spaces, and ensuring the delivery of effective category and supplier management within the Estates Procurement Team. You will report to the Senior Estates Procurement Manager and work within a complex organizational environment, building strong relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing a portfolio of spend, developing category strategies for value and continuous improvement.
2. Understanding market dynamics and conducting sourcing activities such as RFQs and tenders.
3. Negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
4. Planning and organizing procurement activities effectively.
5. Contributing to an efficient, responsive, and value-driven procurement service within a robust regulatory framework.
6. Managing and developing staff, supporting junior team members.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Degree level education or equivalent experience.
* Current or working towards MCIPS (Level 6) or similar qualifications.
* Proven procurement experience managing spend up to circa £10M, delivering strategies and savings.
* Leadership skills for managing cross-functional teams.
* Experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and understanding market and legal risks.
* Knowledge of procurement processes, systems, and best practices.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
