Trust Doctor in Trauma & Orthopaedic (ST3+) The closing date is 17 June 2026.
The successful applicant will be a vital and active member of the department, participating in the care of orthopaedic patients in both acute (trauma) and elective settings. This role includes the provision of fracture and elective outpatient clinics, surgical operations in both trauma and elective cases, and participation in the registrar grade acute trauma on‑call rota (including overnight and weekend provision).
Responsibilities
Provide outpatient clinic service.
Deliver surgical procedures and manage acutely traumatically injured patients.
Engage and supervise junior colleagues.
Participate in the registrar grade acute trauma on‑call rota (overnight and weekend).
Work with Advanced Orthopaedic Practitioner colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.
Request and act upon results of appropriate tests and investigations in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Complete relevant documentation and requests in a timely manner.
Participate in audit and governance processes.
Qualifications
Hold a medical degree.
Full registration with the General Medical Council, including licence to practice in the UK.
Audit / Quality Improvement
Understanding of clinical governance, including the basic principles of audit, clinical risk management, evidence‑based practice, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
Evidence of publications / presentations / prizes in quality improvement or audit.
