Psychiatric Liaison Specialist Practitioner

Do you have specialist knowledge and clinical expertise in Mental Health?

Are you looking for an new opportunity to use your expertise and leadership skills?

We are currently looking for with a Psychiatric Liaison Specialist Practitioner to join an experienced team offering 24/7 psychiatric assessments to the Horton and John Radcliffe emergency departments.

EDPS offer specialist assessments and discharge planning to patients aged 13 years and upwards attending with a broad spectrum of mental health presentations as well as self-harm. Using evidence based practice and leadership skills to optimise outcomes for patients and represent Oxford Health in the general health setting.


Main duties of the job

* Timely and independent psychiatric assessments of patients to identify appropriate, evidence based, mental health treatment and support.
* Effective risk assessment and mitigation.
* Support and guidance to our OUH colleagues around suitable management of distress behaviour and agitation.
* Liaison and referral to other services including secondary health care and third sector partners.
* Development of collaborative discharge plans, designed to meet the individual needs of each patient

Experience

* Experience of clinical leadership in an area related to this client group
