Quality Engineer LeadCwmbran, South WalesThis role is to assure the quality of products, throughout the product lifecycle with SSGB. You will support the product lifecycle quality assurance, through the complete manufacturing process, and take responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality.Safran is an international high-technology group, operating in the aviation (propulsion, equipment and interiors), defense and space markets. Safran has a global presence, with 100,000 employees and sales of 27.3 billion euros in 2024, and holds, alone or in partnership, world or regional leadership positions in its core markets.Safran is in the 2nd place in the aerospace and defense industry in TIME magazine's 'World's best companies 2024' ranking.Safran Seats is one of the world's leading manufacturers of aircraft seats, for both crew and passengers. 1 million Safran Seats-manufactured aircraft seats are currently in service with air fleets around the world.As Quality Engineer Lead, you will support the operational throughput of SGB to ensure the required deliverables are completed on time and to the customer's specification and quality standard.Scope of Responsibilities:Responsible for either Industrial Park Operations Quality Team / Kestrel House Operations Quality Team / Manufacturing Unit Quality Team. This includes, but not limited to, managing all T&A for the team, being the point of contact for Operations Quality in the respective areas.Contributes towards interface/interaction with Customers and cross functionally at SGBProduct Release (EASA and CAA Form 1) SignatoryKey Responsibilities and Duties:Working closely with the Operational Manager as well as other quality teams to define quality objectives in line with company objectives.To ensure that measuring of the quality of products and services are delivered, with respect to the specified objectivesResponsible for ensuring that the appropriate action plans are implements and carried out and measure their effectiveness.Responsible for conducting audits and OJT in accordance with regulations, company procedures and customer requirements.To support and maintain the implementation validation processSupport for in-production quality aspects;Support an environment of continuous improvementResponsible for the analysis of all data to develop quality improvement plans, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency.Undertake QRQC (8D) as required to support timely operational throughput as requiredProvide coaching and mentoring to individuals in the operational areas for in-production quality requirements.What you'll bring:HNC / HND or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline (Essential)In depth understanding and/or experience in utilising QA Tools such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, FMEA & Control plansLine Management experience8D Report writingSound Engineering / Quality background with experience of Quality Engineering in the Aerospace / Defence industryExperienced Quality Engineer within with Internal Design TeamsIn depth understanding of regulatory, international and aerospace quality management standardsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate and maintain relationships with challenging international suppliers and manage frequent interactions with Senior Management and other internal customersAt Safran, we understand that diversity and inclusion make teams stronger and more effective, and as an organisation, we are committed to fair and equitable employment practices for everyone.We also know that some candidates may be put off applying for jobs where they don't meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the advert, however, we encourage anybody to apply if you can demonstrate a variety of skills and experience relevant to the requirements of this role.Please let us know if you would like to discuss any reasonable adjustments to the application or hiring process that may better facilitate your participation.TPBN1_UKTJ
