The ADHD Assessment Service are looking to recruit to a full-time Band 7 Independent Nurse Prescriber.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver Nurse led clinics and Interventions to service users diagnosed with ADHD.
* Prescribe and monitor medication for the management of ADHD with supervision from medical staff.
* Contribute to the assessment of specific complex ADHD presentations within the multidisciplinary team.
* Have overall responsibility for assessment, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of individual programmes of care.
* Work within the Improving access to psychological therapies (IAPT) Principles and as an independent prescriber will be accountable for pharmacological treatment.
* Act in accordance with legal requirements within the Mental Health Act 1983, the Children Act 1994 and other relevant legislation.
* Work within Trust Policies, procedures, local protocols and guidelines including NICE publications.
* Maintain and update clinical knowledge regarding policies and evidence-based practice within the relevant nursing field and disseminate relevant information to colleagues in the service.
* Ensure awareness of statutory responsibilities held by partner agencies to ensure standards are achieved.

* Salary: £47,810 to £54,710 a year Pro rata, per annum

Job Description
* Participate in updating and developing clinical policies and protocols in response to the advances of the role of the Nurse Prescriber.
* Clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in relation to mental health assessment alongside physical assessment.
* Clinical skills in relation to follow on plan / signposting for service users with complex needs.
* Liaison with other healthcare professionals and appropriate agencies.
* Delivering complex clinical skills training to healthcare professionals and clinical supervision of registered nurses, student nurses and trainee advanced clinical practitioners.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualifications Essential: Core nurse qualification e.g. RMN, RNLD, RSCN.
* Experience Essential: Significant experience of specialist mental health assessment and treatment, where appropriate, as a full member of a multi-disciplinary team located in community, primary care, outpatients or inpatient settings.
* Knowledge Essential: Highly competent in the process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
