We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Machine Shop Operator to join our growing team. This will be working on our evening shift where the working hours are Monday-Thursday 1:30pm-10pm and Friday 1:30pm-8pm.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
* Operate CNC Lathes and Machining Centres plus some conventional machines as requested and ensure cycle times and outputs are achieved to the correct quality standard, Report failings.
* Complete detailed quality checks against issued dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers and gauges etc and record measurements on the relevant check sheets.
* Recognise, identify and report all quality defects and equipment failures.
* Ensure all completed work is sent to the stores with any empty trays for that particular part, daily for booking in.
* Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with any work instructions / procedures.
* Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed as required.
* Maintain good communications and relationships throughout the company.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
* Maintain a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards and ensure 5S standards are maintained.
For this role we would need you to demonstrate:
* Previous experience working with MAZAK CNC machinery (essential).
* Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
* Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to safety and quality standards.
* Knowledge of safe brass handling practices preferred.
