A vacancy has arisen for a FS (Any Profession) to serve as SpLD Coordinator at RAF Honington on RAF Regiment Training Wing on Additional Duties Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 05 January 2026. Working within the RAF Regiment Training Wing (RRTW) the FS SpLD Coordinator is responsible for the assessment, management and advising Ph 2 trainees (primarily Ground Combat & Security RAF Regt Gunner’s and potential RAF Regiment Officers) with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD). If the incumbent does not currently hold SpLD and coaching / mentoring qualifications, training will be provided. However, they will be expected to become fully qualified within 12 months of start date. FS SpLD RRTW is Responsible for: Promote an understanding of SpLD issues within the establishment. Discuss with personnel/trainees and trainers/line managers challenges within the training environment. Coordinate with Learning Support Mentor (LSM) to facilitate funding for an Educational Psychologist Assessment for qualifying personnel. In liaison with LSM, carry out an initial SpLD assessment if required and recommend further action based on the results. Carry out actions identified by Educational/Occupational Psychologist’s reports on behalf of the individual. Create an Individual Learning Plan with the individual, line manager and or trainer. Review support regularly and update the ILP in conjunction with the individual and the line manager or trainer as and when necessary. Treat all information regarding an individual and their SpLD in accordance with data protection policy. Liaise closely with both losing and receiving units to ensure that suitable provision is available for the individual to continue training and/or productive service. Upon completion of SpLD Awareness Training and in collaboration with LSM support trainees with SpLD through one-to-one or group sessions to help them cope with rigours of training and assessment. Maintain your own professional knowledge and understanding of supporting personnel with SpLDs.
