As the post holder, you will be an integral part of the Directorate Triumvirate, working in partnership with the General Manager and Clinical Director at Velindre Cancer Services, progressing into the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC) in Cardiff. When complete, this world-class facility will provide specialist tertiary oncology services to patients across Southeast Wales.
You will possess exceptional operational expertise to deliver and evaluate progress in achieving the Trust's vision of excellence in healthcare. You will provide visible, clinical, professional, and compassionate leadership for nursing across the directorate.
The post holder will have relevant professional qualifications and additional specialist management knowledge, acquired through training and experience.

Main duties of the job
You will be professionally accountable for delivering high-quality, safe, and effective care within your sphere of responsibility.
You will actively develop a culture of quality, improvement, and productivity to enhance patient care and services by analyzing complex data (such as PREMS, PROMS, DATIX), developing, and implementing solutions to meet performance targets aligned with the Trust's Quality and Patient Safety Governance Framework.
You will promote and role model the Trust's values, leadership expectations, and behaviors, advocating for diversity and equal opportunities in all services.
You will lead in setting and cascading challenging goals and objectives, ensuring the Trust's vision, values, and strategic themes are translated into clear plans and performance reviews.
You will ensure patient safety by reviewing risks and progress on risk reduction plans, adhering to legal and safety requirements.

Qualifications / Knowledge
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent, with highly specialist qualification and experience.
* Professional NMC registration applicable to your area of practice.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Specialist clinical knowledge related to your responsibilities.
* Understanding of diverse clinical areas and health service provision.
* Knowledge of current issues in professional nursing practice.
* Understanding of research and its influence on practice.
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience at a senior nursing level.

Salary: £78,120 to £90,013 per annum, pro-rata.
