The role
The Merchandiser is responsible for delivering the planned sales and profitability of their department by managing and optimizing the categories through effective planning and trading.
What you’ll be doing (key responsibilities)
1. Deliver the planned sales and profitability of your department by managing and optimizing the categories through effective planning and trading
2. Regular analysis of department performance to maximize commercial opportunities
3. Monthly sales forecast analysis to determine OTB opportunity and provide feedback for future buys
4. Through strategic planning and trading of the department manage the intake and OTB to deliver the inventory targets for the department and the brand
5. Category ownership within quarterly buys: analysing sales, product selection, sales/ST% forecasting and buy planning in line with OTB. Presenting results to senior team for sign off
6. Review size analysis and analyse market trends across product
7. In collaboration with Innovations Lead, continuously look for opportunities to develop current systems and processes that are in place and be instrumental in implementing best practices
8. Build relationships across the brand with regional teams and support with various topics e.g. capacity, pricing, stock levels, etc.
9. Lead, manage and develop the junior Merchandising team

15. Proven experience as a Merchandiser Fashion Retail, with a strong track record of delivering results
16. Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make recommendations to optimize performance
17. Excellent understanding of retail math, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, and sell-through
18. Proficiency in planning and allocation systems and advanced Excel skills
19. Solid understanding of the retail landscape, including market trends, competitor analysis, and customer behavior
20. Strong decision-making skills with the ability to balance commercial needs with brand vision
21. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
22. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
23. Commercial acumen and a strong understanding of how to drive profitability
24. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic AllSaints environment
