What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Senior Product Compliance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring safety throughout the product design process. Your responsibilities will include:
* Participating in Daily Stand-Up Meetings (DSUM) to keep the team aligned.
* Engaging in design activities focused on risk reduction and analysis.
* Applying a systems engineering approach to safety products using a centralized modeling tool.
* Collaborating within a small, dedicated safety team.
* Mentoring team members with less safety experience to achieve optimal safety outcomes.
* Preparing safety assessments to support system design and development.
* Contributing to Design Safety Justification inputs.
* Providing Safety Subject Matter Expertise during product design and gate reviews.
* Fostering a strong product safety culture within the team and the wider organization.
Your Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications:
* A STEM degree, ideally with experience in Product Safety within a regulated industry.
* Familiarity with UK Defence Standards and publications, such as Defence Standard 00-56 and Defence Standard 00-55.
* Knowledge of safety analysis techniques, including FHA, FTA, ETA, FMEA, and STPA.
* An understanding of IEC 61508 and/or IEC 61511 principles for complex Software and Hardware Safety Instrumented Systems.

About the Safety Environmental Team:
In this role, you will focus on safety during the product design process, providing valuable analysis and outputs to Principal Engineers to enhance design development. We also offer relocation support packages for all Submarines roles, subject to eligibility criteria.
