Key details
* Working hours: part‑time, job‑share or full‑time basis.
* Salary: approximately £58,000 plus ~£2,000 in allowances, company car for essential users and other benefits.
* Location: Home‑based in Cumbria, Northamptonshire or Scotland – relocation may be required.

Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to field‑based Engineer Surveyors.
* Support delivery of a technical governance programme.
* Assist clients with technical queries and build relationships.
* Support the delivery of additional fee‑earning income streams where appropriate.
* Provide input to departmental strategy to support wider business strategy.
* Create and update technical procedures, processes and libraries.
* Conduct and update risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Progress and manage technical projects associated with new and emerging technologies and practices; oversee repairs and modifications where applicable.
* Contribute to changes that improve Zurich’s business proposition while managing risk.
* Conduct technical investigations.
* Coach and mentor trainee Engineer Surveyors.
* Support the technical development of engineers through creation and delivery of training material.
Qualifications
* Minimum: HNC (Level 4) in a relevant engineering field (degree preferred).
* At least 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering field, with at least 1 year directly related to the engineering in‑service inspection industry.
* Registered with the Engineering Council to at least Engineering Technician, aspiring to attain IEng within a defined timescale.
* Provide two years of related CPD (minimum 30 h / yr).
* Sound understanding of design, construction and operation of equipment, plant and standards associated with the discipline.
* Working knowledge of legislation and regulations associated with the discipline.
* Appreciation of BS ISO 17020 requirements.
* Ability to work remotely and within a team environment effectively.
* Organised, prioritises and manages work.
* Desire to develop technical knowledge and understanding of equipment associated with the discipline.
* Full valid UK driving licence and ability to travel.
* Effective communication of technical and non‑technical matters to stakeholders, including technical documentation and presentations.
