Your role and responsibilities
In our EMEA ELSE Discovery Trainee Program, you will develop skills necessary to kickstart a career in the Service division at ABB. As a trainee, you will be part of a community and participate in activities with other trainees, such as training sessions to enhance soft and technical skills, meeting project deadlines, and engaging in social and team-building activities to expand your network within ABB. Throughout the program, you will receive support from the Program Lead. The work model for this role is hybrid. This position contributes to the Electrification, Service division in the UK.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support ABB’s businesses, collaborate with different leaders and teams, and contribute to the company's strategic objectives. Daily tasks will include performing assigned responsibilities, with the goal of achieving your career development objectives.
You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Assisting sales, tendering, and project managers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors, and vendors.
2. Delivering projects within budget and on time.
3. Assisting with claims, customer specifications, and safety standards.
4. Creating and delivering work plans and budgets, including risk assessments relevant to your engineering discipline.
5. Helping customers resolve technical issues remotely and at customer sites.
6. Liaising with factories regarding delivery, design, and technical resolution.
Qualifications for the role
* Recent completion of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
* Understanding of project management principles.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* A growth mindset focused on continual learning and improvement.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan effectively and follow through to project completion.
* Flexibility and willingness to travel across the UK to ABB and customer sites (driving license required).
