The main purpose of this role is the operation, review, and development of key actuarial calculations and processes critical to the financial reporting for SJP plc and/or its subsidiaries.
What you will be doing:
* Applying specialized actuarial techniques and producing/reviewing key deliverables including:
* The actuarial inputs to financial reporting.
* The actuarial inputs to regulatory submissions.
* The financial projections to support business planning, capital management, and risk assessment.
* The development, maintenance, documentation, and validation of actuarial systems.
* The analysis of the company’s experience (lapses and expenses).
* Drafting key reports communicating the results of financial reporting exercises.
* Ensuring proper operation, implementation, maintenance, and development of controls to safeguard the accuracy of actuarial outputs.
* Supervising the work of actuarial assistants/technicians as needed.
* Providing actuarial advice and input for cross-functional or finance projects.
Candidate requirements:
* Good track record through the actuarial curriculum and relevant experience in applying actuarial techniques, Reserving, EEV, Analysis of Change, or Solvency II is advantageous.
* Knowledge of principles underlying actuarial cash-flow modeling; knowledge of SQL and other programming languages (VBA, R, Python) is a plus.
* Strong computing skills, particularly Excel, and exceptional analytical and numerical skills.
* Ability to communicate technical matters clearly and concisely.
* Strong relationship-building skills with key stakeholders.
