We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Arriva team based either in York or Crewe as a HR and Development Coordinator. You will support in the planning, delivery and execution of development programs and associated activity within Grand Central and Arriva TrainCare that support our people in order to thrive.

The Role – HR & Development Coordinator
1. Supporting with the production and delivery of the annual learning and development strategy
2. Promoting a positive learning culture within the businesses
3. Co-ordinating non-technical local learning and development activity for GC and ATC, including sourcing of training providers, booking courses, raising purchase orders and managing bookings
4. Researching and recommending training suppliers and education bodies
5. Producing periodic reports on delivery against KPIs
6. Maintaining relationships with key suppliers internally and externally
7. Providing support as required to the HR team and lead HR and development projects as required
8. Ensure visibility across both businesses by regularly travelling to locations and engaging with colleagues at all levels to ensure the people plan and initiatives are fit for purpose

Our Requirements – HR and Development Coordinator
17. Either have an administrative qualification or gained equivalent administration experience
18. Proficient IT skills, with a sound understanding of Microsoft Office packages
19. Good organisational skills
20. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence to engage with an audience
21. Driven, motivated and committed to ensure delivery of the best possible service to our people
22. Excellent attention to detail
23. Ability to analyse and interpret data
24. Superb time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple training activities simultaneously
25. Enthusiasm for learning, and committed to continuous personal development
Although not essential, the following experiences are desirable; delivering courses; working within a HR function; working knowledge of the Rail and Engineering industries, using an LMS system; and/or working within a unionised environment.
