Role - Civils Supervisor Location - UK Mint Selection are currently partnered with a leading EPC who are seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor to join them on a long term contract to oversee the delivery of a large scale BESS project in Manchester. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in supervising groundworks and infrastructure activities, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and in line with project specifications. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and coordination across all civil elements of BESS installations. Scope of Work: Supervise all aspects of civil construction works on BESS sites, including groundworks, access roads, drainage, cable trenches, concrete bases, and compound installation. Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure alignment with project schedules and technical requirements. Support the Site Manager with planning and coordination of daily site activities. Read and interpret technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments. Carry out regular inspections to ensure works meet design standards and are free from defects. Record site progress, issues, and materials used through daily reports and photos. Ensure proper implementation of permits to work, RAMS, and lifting plans. Assist with site inductions, toolbox talks, and the enforcement of site rules and regulations. Act as the key on-site contact for civil-related queries and coordination. Requirements: Minimum 35 years of experience supervising civil works in utility-scale energy or infrastructure projects. Direct experience on BESS projects or similar renewable energy developments is strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple site activities. Strong understanding of groundwork, reinforced concrete structures, and trenching techniques. Competent in interpreting civil and structural drawings and specifications. Working knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in construction. Valid CSCS, SSSTS (or SMSTS), and First Aid certification. Full driving license and willingness to work on site-based assignments. These will be 6 month renewable contracts and are outside IR35.
