Job Summary
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team at Carluke Leisure Centre as a Health and Fitness Duty Officer. The role assists the Recreation Officer in managing day‑to‑day operations, ensuring staff are managed, developed and reviewed, delivering staff training, maintaining facility standards, improving customer retention, and working with the Health Team to deliver health programmes and outreach work.
Location: Carluke Leisure Centre, 135 Carnwath Road, Carluke
Salary Band: £33,468 - £34,399
Hours: 35 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Flexibility required; may include occasional weekend and evening work
Duration: Fixed Term until 30th June 2027
Responsibilities
* Accountable for financial processes, including payroll, ordering, and cash management.
* Assist in maintaining budgets and trading activities.
* Ensure staff are effectively managed, developed and reviewed to fulfill operational objectives.
* Undertake project work involving events, equipment, and marketing within predefined timescales.
* Provide customer care to high standards in line with the Business Plan and SLLC Strategy.
* Deliver training and maintain high facility standards.
* Work evenings and weekends as required.
* Deliver health programmes within the local community as part of the Health Team.
Qualifications
* Level 3 or equivalent qualification essential.
* Current BACR (British Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation) or PSI (Postural Stability Instructor) qualification desirable.
