About the Role As a Practice Nurse, you will deliver a wide range of high-quality nursing services that support the health and wellbeing of our patient population. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to: Management of long-term conditions Treatment room duties Immunisation and screening programmes Sexual health services Health promotion and patient education You will play a key role in helping patients take ownership of their health, working closely with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative colleagues to ensure outstanding patient care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Deliver treatment room services and manage long-term conditions within your scope of practice. Provide immunisations, cervical screening, and sexual health services. Perform home visits where appropriate. Review and act on test results, referring to senior clinicians when needed. Deliver evidence-based nursing treatments independently or alongside GPs. Support patient recalls and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Teamwork & Service Delivery Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment. Support team development, including assisting with training and mentorship of junior staff and HCAs. Maintain stock levels and ensure safe use of clinical equipment. Adhere to all clinical policies including health and safety, infection control, equality and diversity, and confidentiality. Person Specification Essential Experience Experience as a nurse in general practice or primary care Treatment room duties, patient assessment, and management of long-term conditions Safe delivery of immunisation programmes Sexual health services within competency Wound care, injections, and routine clinical procedures Accurate documentation and adherence to confidentiality standards Effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment Patient education and health promotion Compliance with health & safety, infection control, and equality & diversity policies Desirable Experience Mentoring or supporting junior staff/HCAs Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse with NMC registration GCSE English & Maths (A–C or equivalent) NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) Relevant clinical training or experience in primary care Desirable Leadership or mentoring qualifications Additional professional development relevant to primary care nursing Personal Attributes Essential Excellent communication skills Strong organisational and time-management abilities Commitment to ongoing learning and development Compassionate, patient-centred approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Professional integrity and adherence to the NMC Code
