Alexander Steele are working with an established bakery products manufacturer in Leeds who are looking to recruit a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar HSE role within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of safety systems, risk assessments, and environmental compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Support the implementation and ongoing development of the site Health, Safety & Environmental management systems
* Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections in line with company policy and legal requirements
* Provide guidance and support to managers and colleagues to maintain a safe working environment
* Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
* Lead toolbox talks and promote a positive safety culture across all departments
* Ensure site compliance with environmental standards, including waste management and energy use
* Maintain accurate HSE records, documentation, and reporting for both internal and external audits
* Support continuous improvement projects to drive engagement and best practice in health, safety, and environmental performance
On Offer
* Up to £40,000 annual salary DOE
* Monday to Friday – Days - 40 hours per week
* 33 days annual leave
