What does the job role involve?
Laundry Assistants play an important part in our care homes, ensuring a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join our team and support the day-to-day running of laundry services within our care home. Your role will be essential in maintaining high standards of hygiene and comfort for our residents by ensuring their clothing, bedding, and linens are clean, fresh, and well-presented.
The role includes but is not limited to:
* Ensure compliance with Guidelines for Laundry and Infection Control.
* Follow infection control measures at all times, including wearing gloves and aprons when handling soiled linen.
* Ensure cuts are covered with suitable dressings.
* Collect and launder infected/soiled linen in designated bags.
* Check clothing pockets to avoid unwanted items going through the laundry.
* Familiarise with Company Policies.
* Adhere to Infection Control & Prevention policies, regulations, and guidelines.
* Report all breakages and breakdowns immediately to the Home Manager or Person-in-Charge.
* Report or undertake clothing repairs as needed.
* Ensure clothing is marked with residents' names to prevent loss or mix-up.
* Perform other ad hoc duties as required.
What makes a successful candidate:
* Previous laundry experience.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and independently, showing creativity and passion.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to follow and prioritise tasks effectively.

* Part-time contract, 18 hours per week, including weekends.
* Set working days: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
* Pay: £12.21 per hour.
