You will be working a 48-hour week working Tuesday to Saturdays. We specialise in delivering home improvement products on behalf of the UK’s largest DIY retailer to private households. This role is key to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
Provide coaching and training on driving hours / manual entries to colleagues and new starters.
• Carry out driving assessment annually for core colleagues and pre-employment assessments where necessary.
• Carry out any re-training identified as required from annual assessments.
• Monitor infringements and carry out re-training where required.
• Carry out delivery point assessments for store deliveries.
• Accident and Investigation support
• Be the point of contact for the driving population regarding training needs, tachograph compliance and on day access issues.
• Ensure Driver inductions are carried out in accordance with the company policies and procedures, and all mandatory online courses are completed within set time frames.
• Driver CPC management – ensuring all driver CPC details are kept up to date and courses are arranged when needed.
• Ensure Company core values are followed.
• Safe Systems of Work are trained to all colleagues.
• Carry out Drugs and Alcohol testing.
• Maintain all training documentation.
• Provide a professional driving service and meet and exceed expectations of our customers.
• Ensure correct and accurate completion of documentation in line with customer, legislative and company policies and procedures
• Responsible for the Health and Safety of themselves and others, completion of dynamic risk assessments, adhering to safe working practices and the Health & Safety at Work Act, including accident, incident and damage reporting
• Ensuring compliance with Transport driving regulations and working time regulations.
• Attending any relevant training as required to ensure you remain fully equipped to perform your role effectively and to assist in the development of continuous
improvement
• Driver Assessor qualification is desirable
• Previous retail and commercial driving experience is desirable
• Multi drop experience is desirable
Experience & Qualifications
• Valid Licensing: Hold an in-date, valid Class 2 licence, CPC licence, and Digi Card.
• Good Driving Record: Have no more than 3 points on your licence.
• Professional Presentation: Maintain a smart appearance and bring excellent customer service skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Flexibility & Punctuality: Show flexibility in shifts and duties with reliable timekeeping.
• Time-Critical Service: Provide efficient, on-time delivery service, meeting targets agreed upon by both the customer and Wincanton.
• Experience behind the Wheel: Previous retail or commercial driving experience is preferred, and multi-drop experience is an advantage.
• Physical Capability: Due to the nature of the role, heavy lifting is required daily. You’ll handle bulky items such as washing machines, kitchen units, and worktops as part of a two-person team.
