We have an exciting role on offer within our Transport and Infrastructure service as a Area Transport Supervisor.
Being able to access education and day care could not be more important to the children and adults in our area who have complex needs. Our service is passionate about helping vulnerable adults access stimulating social environments and build on their personal networks. We help many young learners with complex needs travel to school, helping them to access the same opportunities and improve their life chances. If you share our passion, then this newly developed role may be the perfect opportunity for you.
Supervisory experience and understanding of transporting children and vulnerable adults would be great, but not essential as we are more than happy to help with your development. Perhaps you have lived experience, and this could be a vocational opportunity?
This is a rewarding post. You will contribute to the management of our essential transport service by organising and managing several transport routes, you will supervise our passenger assistants and drivers, you will have fantastic organisational skills, making sure that we have cover in place for our service to operate.
Working closely with our team, external contractors, guardians and schools (and of course our passengers!), you will have excellent communication skills and be able to build great relationships.
To be successful in this role you need:
* Full driver’s license including D1 (with D1 (101) Entitlement to drive).
* Excellent coordination and organisational skills.
* Passion to achieve positive results for the people you engage with.
* A collaborative approach to working with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Creativity to help develop and maintain the service provided.
* Integrity in your approach, being respectful and doing things in the right way.
* Flexibility in your approach to meet customer engagement.
You will have a responsibility for:
* Making sure our passengers get to where they need to be by maintaining a daily transport provision including providing driving cover on occasions.
* Support the team, providing development and training.
* Collaborate with customers, contractors, guardians and schools to manage any changes to transport arrangements.
* Making sure our passengers are safe by carrying out risk assessments.
* Support with the monitoring of contracted taxi and bus transport.
* Measure success, providing operational performance information.
If this is you, this may be the opportunity you are looking for!
