We are currently working with a secondary school in the Leeds area who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in class. This is a full time role starting in September and working on an ongoing basis.
In this role, you will:
* Work collaboratively within class under the direction of the class teacher.
* Provide support to pupils in the classroom to facilitate their learning and personal development.
* Assist in the management of pupils and the classroom environment.
* Support pupils in meeting their personal needs, promoting independence and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering the curriculum to pupils with SEND.
* Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to suit individual needs.
* Encourage and promote positive behaviour and social interactions among pupils.
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
* Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for candidates who:
* Have experience working with children or young people, preferably with a range of SEND.
* Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the needs of pupils.
* Are proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Hold a relevant qualification in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
