History Teacher | Secondary School in Bushey | Half-Term or September Start Paid to Scale Supply Desk is currently looking for a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Bushey. The role is available for a long-term, full-time position, starting either after the half-term break or in September. Job Description: Teach engaging history lessons to secondary school students, ensuring a high-quality learning experience. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, using innovative teaching methods and resources. Support the development of students' historical knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills. Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents. Maintain effective classroom management, promoting positive behaviour and managing challenging situations with professionalism. Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, including history clubs or school events. Work closely with other subject teachers and the SENCO to support students with additional needs, ensuring they are fully included in lessons and activities. Provide a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment, encouraging students to achieve their full potential. Actively contribute to departmental meetings and professional development opportunities. Our ideal candidate will: Be a qualified History teacher with a passion for the subject and experience teaching secondary school students Have a strong understanding of the curriculum and how to create engaging and challenging lessons. Be able to maintain effective classroom management, fostering a positive and focused environment. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with students, parents, and colleagues. Be empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting the individual needs of students. Be proactive, flexible, and adaptable in response to the changing needs of the students and the school. Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service). Have or be willing to undertake additional training in relevant areas such as safeguarding and first aid.
