We are A Room in the Garden, a small and friendly team based in Brighton & Hove. We design and build beautiful, bespoke garden rooms—from stylish home offices to cosy studios. We manage every stage of the process, from the initial concept to the final build, and now we're looking for someone special to help us bring our clients' dreams to life.
The Role
We're seeking a Designer & Project Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you'll:
* Support our head designer in creating designs and client presentations.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, guiding them from the design phase through to the build.
* Ensure projects run smoothly, managing timelines and expectations.
* Take ownership of your own projects, from concept to completion.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of independence and responsibility, perfect for someone who loves both design and people.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and a genuine enjoyment of working directly with clients.
* Strong interior design knowledge.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Confident computer skills (Google Slides, Sheets & Docs, Excel).
* Solid knowledge of SketchUp.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
Desirable:
* Full driving licence and access to a car.
* Technical/building knowledge.
