Elburton Primary School is seeking a passionate, hardworking and driven Apprentice Early Years Educator to join our nursery team. The role will be managed by Plymouth Teachers and School Alliance.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of nursery teachers and senior staff, you will provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children. You will assist in formulating the aims and objectives of the nursery under the Headteacher’s overall direction, carry out all professional duties of an Early Years Educator, handle child protection issues, and promote the welfare of children within the school.

Training and Qualification
* Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship
* Behaviours, Skills & Knowledge
* Functional Skills in Maths and English at level 2 (if not already exempt through prior qualifications)
* Regular visits by a designated assessor to observe progress and competence
* Training days provided by Plymouth Teachers and School Alliance
The apprenticeship duration is 15 months, offering hands‑on experience in early years education, including child development, safeguarding, behaviour management, family engagement and creating a safe learning environment.
There may be the potential for full‑time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship across the Learning Academies Trust, for the right candidate.
