We are looking for a friendly, active, and reliable support worker for a 16-year-old young man in the Truro area. The role is for three afternoons/evenings each week, Saturday morning and two full days during the week when he is not at college, and three days per week and a Saturday morning during college holidays.
He is motivated, sociable, and enjoys getting out and about.
Activities you’ll be supporting him with include:
* arts and crafts
* swimming
* adapted cycling
* going to the gym
* other community-based activities
A driver with access to their own car and business insurance is essential for this role. The family do have a dog at the house.
Rate of pay: £17 weekdays and £19 weekend per hour. Taxable mileage of £0.45 per mile (up to 100 miles per shift) is payable. All meals are included while on shift.
An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in care and competent IT skills are desirable. This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS, and you will be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
Hours – 33 per week in term time and 45 per week in holidays. This could be split between 2 applicants. Hours will be negotiated at interview.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
