Teach Now is looking for a resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 3 at a welcoming primary school in Havering, East London. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role where you will make a genuine impact in supporting a child with Autism who requires firm guidance, patience, and consistent care.
The Role
• Provide 1:1 support for a child with Autism who presents with challenging behaviours and high activity levels.
• Deliver both academic and emotional support, helping the child remain engaged, calm, and focused.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Maintain a safe and structured learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and resilience.
• Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to deliver personalised strategies tailored to the child’s needs.
What We’re Looking For
• Extensive SEN experience (essential), particularly with Autism and challenging behaviour.
• Confidence to be firm, consistent, and hands-on in managing behaviour and supporting learning.
• A caring but proactive approach, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
