Role Description
This is a part time, on-site role for an Integrative Child Counsellor located in Liverpool. The Integrative Child Counsellor will work directly with children in residential foster care to support their mental health and well-being. Day-to-day tasks include conducting counselling sessions, developing and implementing appropriate mental health intervention strategies to meet the children's needs. You will also be required to work alongside our psychological team and residential carers, to ensure the appropriate planning and support is delivered.
Qualifications & Person Specification
* Recognised qualifications in Child Counselling
* Experience in Integrative Child Counselling, Mental Health Support, and Emotional Well-being
* Skills in session planning, creative thinking and developing supportive resources
* Experience working with children in Residential Care and
Neurodiversity
* Use a range of methods: (CBT, EMDR, REBT, Play Therapy, Object Relations)
* Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding and trauma informed practice
* A minimum of 3 years experience
* Collaboration and Communication skills with children, care staff and wider teams.
* Empathy, patience, and a supportive attitude
* Relevant certifications in child counselling
* Membership of professional body: (BACP, NCPS, HCPC)
