About the Role
Provide high‑quality mental health care for working‑aged adults with severe and enduring mental health problems, both inpatient and outpatient.
Work closely with North CMHT to ensure coherent and high‑quality mental health care, collaborate with other consultants, and attend local and divisional service development meetings.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver inpatient and outpatient mental health care to working‑aged adults with severe and enduring mental health problems.
* Coordinate care with North CMHT and other consultants to support service development.
* Attend local and divisional service development meetings.
* Meet duties under the Mental Health Act (MHA) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
Qualifications & Experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCPsych and qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* Fully registered with the GMC, licence to practise at the time of appointment.
* On the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of anticipated award of CCT in General Adult Psychiatry at interview.
* Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
* Valid UK driving licence or evidence of proposed alternative.

About the Trust
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is a full‑time substantive General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist at Tameside Hospital with North CMHT based at Trust HQ. The service operates in a sectorised model and is staffed by three consultants. We have a strong teaching commitment and close links with ongoing research projects.
