Are you looking for a new challenge or ready for the next step into a specialist area of work? An amazing opportunity has arisen to join the Hull and East Riding Core CAMHS service based at West End Hessle and Rivendell House Driffield as an Occupational Therapist. This role will provide both Occupational therapy and mental health assessment and intervention to the children and young people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. Occupational Therapist is a new role within the service and the successful candidate will need to have the skills and knowledge to confidently develop the role.
The service works across a variety of settings relevant to the role including clinics, community spaces and schools across the Hull and East riding geographical patch.
Main duties
* To manage own caseload.
* To offer systemic and mental health based interventions alongside specific Occupational Therapy interventions.
* this role sits within the new model of practice being rolled out across CAMHS
* To assess capacity, gain valid consent and work within legal framework appropriate to service area.
* To offer education, advice and training to parents and others to best support childrens needs.
* Ensure patient documentation is accurate, maintaining complete and contemporaneous records in line with HCPC/RCOT and Trust standards.
* Promote the involvement and engagement of patients/service users and carers /relatives.
* Ensure understanding of own and others level of accountability and responsibility when delegating tasks and duties to students and support staff.
* Ensure that practice is within scope of own ability, knowledge, skills and experience. To ensure that practice is within the RCOT Code of Conduct and professional standards as well as Trust standards and policies.
* Provide occupational therapy advice to other disciplines
* Undertake the practice educators course to supervise OT students.
This role is for a clinician with an interest and passion for working in CAMHS and offering a more generic intervention alongside your OT knowledge and skills with a focus on systemic practice. This post will offer the opportunity to develop skills and be a part of service change and development.
