Responsibilities include:
1. Performing outpatient office visits, including new patients, follow-ups, and acute care.
2. Ordering and interpreting lab and radiology results, formulating medical plans.
3. Managing inpatients collaboratively with physicians.
4. Conducting hospital rounds, admission histories, physicals, and discharge planning.
5. Pre-procedural evaluations and patient education regarding GI procedures.
6. Coordinating patient care, follow-ups, and procedural scheduling.
7. Evaluating new and post-procedural patients, and routine follow-ups.
8. Handling phone triage, prescription refills, and reviewing reports and studies.
9. Providing patient education and assisting in treatment plan formulation.
Requirements include graduation from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program, a baccalaureate degree or equivalent experience, and 1-3 years of gastroenterology experience preferred.
