MERITUS are recruiting for a Quality Lineside Engineer to work on a nightshift for our major aerospace client. The nightshift will be between 8:45pm and 6:00am Monday to Thursday and will be paid with a 30% uplift (£42.84 per hour).
NIGHTSHIFT QUALITY ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £32.96 PER HOUR (UP TO £42.84 PER HOUR WITH NIGHTSHIFT ALLOWANCE) - BROUGHTON, FLINTSHIRE - 12 MONTHS - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS
Responsibilities:
* To provide specialist Quality support and advice on drawings, parts, processes, and support services, and to independently assure that Quality requirements have been met.
* Assures that the Quality system is being adhered to within the business through surveillance activities.
* Assures that certification processes are consistently defined and applied within the business.
* Coordinate and lead reported quality/technical issues from business teams and customers, ensuring that appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken by the accountable function through use of multifunctional team activities and that the issue originator is informed.
* Perform initial investigations (e.g., Events, QLBs, NCs) to assess probable root cause, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken (ambition is within one shift) through problem‑solving analysis via multifunctional team activities.
* Conduct investigations to assess the probable root cause of any deficiency noted during process confirmation activities, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken.
* Compile and present Quality overview to the leadership team within the business area.
Required Skillset:
* Ability to interpret drawings.
* Ability to problem‑solve and use associated problem‑solving tool sets (PPS, 5Y, Ishikawa, etc.).
* Good interpersonal skills – ability to challenge appropriately whilst maintaining strong relationships.
* Data analysis skills – interpret data sets, graphical data and draw conclusions.
* Work well as part of an integrated team alongside operational and cross‑functional team members.
* Quality or engineering‑based background (desirable) within a major manufacturing industry.
