Overview
Prestwick Golf Club was formed in 1851 and inaugurated the Open Championship in 1860. The Championship was subsequently played at the Club a further 23 times. A private members’ Club with a worldwide membership, the Club continues to regularly host major amateur events.
The Club wishes to appoint a Finance Assistant on a part time basis (22.5 hours per week) to provide accounting support to the Finance Manager.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance of the Club’s accounting records on Sage
* Reconciliation and processing of daily banking
* Maintenance of purchase ledger ensuring that invoices are appropriately authorised, entered into Sage and paid when due, and including monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
* Monitoring Member Balances and chasing payments where required
* Processing and reconciling annual subscriptions
* Monitoring and reconciling bank balances
* Preparing information for the completion of quarterly VAT returns
* Assisting with monthly management accounts
* Providing general support for finance operations
Qualifications and skills
* Experience in the use of the Sage Line 50 software package
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Experience in processing and reconciling financial transactions
* Good telephone manner and excellent interpersonal skills
* Interest in golf and its traditions would be advantageous
