As a Nursing Support Worker in theatre you will provide excellent care for our patients and skilled support for the registrants and the wider theatre team.
Withybush General Hospital, Haverfordwest has three Main Theatres and 1 theatre in the Day Theatre department. The theatres provide care to patients undergoing procedures in Orthopaedics, General surgery, urology, ophthalmology, dermatology, Gynaecology surgery.
Main duties of the job
You will provide skilled assistance to the registrant and wider perioperative team in the ‘circulating’ role. Have knowledge of the specialities affiliated with Withybush General Hospital and provide patient care in accordance with health board policy.
Participate as a member of the perioperative team and have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to exact timeframes.
There is a commitment to develop all staff groups.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Qualifications and Knowledge
* Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or Equivalent experience and can evidence work-based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role, which is gained through experience and work-based training/short courses).
* Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
* Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting, for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality, for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Experience
* Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
* Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
* Experience of working within the NHS
