A reputable public-sector organisation in Leeds City Centre is seeking an interim Digital Category Manager to support with digital procurement activity for a period of circa 3-6 months. This is a hands-on operational role focused on deliveringpliant procurement activity across digital and IT categories.
Your new role
The Digital Category Manager will be responsible for managing end‑to‑end procurement activity, with a strong emphasis on direct awards and framework call‑offs. The role is tactical in nature and will suit someonefortable working at pace in a regulated public sector environment. Key responsibilities will include:
1. Deliver digital and IT procurement activity in line with public sector regulations
2. Manage direct awards and framework call‑offs ( CCS and other relevant frameworks)
3. Providemercial and procurement advice to internal stakeholders
4. Ensure value for money,pliance, and timely delivery of contracts
5. Support ongoing category management activity as required
What you'll need to succeed
6. Proven experience as a Digital / IT Category Manager within the public sector
7. ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE (SC) - ESSENTIAL
8. Strong working knowledge of public sector frameworks and procurement regulations
9. Experience delivering operational and tactical procurement activity
10. Ability to work on-site in Leeds up to two days per week
What you'll get in return
11. A day rate of between £500-550 per day inside IR35 (umbrella rate)
12. Hybrid working role (2 days in the office)
13. An initial contract of 3-6 months
