Manufacturing Shift Team Leader - Print Process
Location: Wigan, Lancashire, WN5 0LQ
Salary: £43,544 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Shift Team Leader to join our team and build a career in the print industry.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Print process on your shift, including the mounting and ink department, ensuring safety, quality and overall performance targets are achieved.
* Ensure all safety and environmental procedures and policies are followed.
* Establish a disciplined and organised working environment.
* Lead the print department on shift with responsibility for ensuring standards / performance in:
o Safety, health, environment and hygiene
o Quality
o Meters per manned hour
o Make ready times
o Waste
o 5S and housekeeping standards
o Maintenance is carried out to planned timescales
* Team development, monitor performance and provide recommendations to the process manager for training as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Fully trained Flexographic Printer
* 5+ years Operations / Flexographic Print
* Knowledge of inks and plate mounting
* Experience of Team Leadership
* Problem solving knowledge / experience
* Excellent time keeping skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Approachable / reliable
* Effective communication to all levels of employees
* Good team player
* Able to perform well under pressure with a can do attitude
* IOSH or similar operational safety qualification (desirable, not essential)
* Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement techniques (advantage)
* Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards in a production setting (advantage)
* Fluent English – able to communicate effectively with colleagues and understand written and verbal work instructions
Shift Patterns
Print roles operate across shifting patterns. For the F&K machine, a 12 hour shift pattern on a rotating 4 week cycle typically includes:
* Week 1: 4 nights, 3 off
* Week 2: 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights
* Week 3: 3 off, 4 days
* Week 4: 7 off
A reasonable level of fitness is required as the role involves some physical activity (lifting and bending).
