Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team, providing a safe and engaging environment for children to learn and play. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early childhood education and be committed to fostering the development of children through play-based activities. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for supervising children, facilitating play, and ensuring their wellbeing while promoting positive interactions.
Working hours are Monday-Thursday 14:30-17:30 Friday 12:30-17:00. These hours are non-negotiable, unfortunately, as this is the after school times. Respectfully, please only apply if you are able to work this Shift pattern.
Duties
* Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, social skills, and physical development.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
* Manage behaviour in a positive manner, promoting respect and cooperation among children.
* Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
* Support children's individual needs, including those with additional requirements or special educational needs.
* Drive initiatives that promote teamwork and leadership among the children in your care.
Experience
* Previous experience in childcare or early years education is desired, preferably within a nursery or similar setting.
* A strong understanding of child development principles and the importance of play in learning is required.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with children and parents alike.
* Leadership qualities with the ability to manage groups of children effectively while fostering an inclusive environment.
* A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications would be advantageous but not mandatory.
