The Systems Engineering function in Ultra provides expertise to all projects through the bid and full development lifecycle. It ensures that both project and statutory requirements are met and works to improve the effectiveness of the systems design function within the company. It is responsible for the system architecture and integration of the solution. It is responsible for design for cost and design for manufacture. The Cyber UK Operational Business Unit delivers multiple concurrent research, development and production programmes ranging from tens of £k to several £m.
Responsible for / Key responsibilities
* Support to requirements management and analysis / Implement a solution from a requirements driven approach
* Support to Architecture and Design of ATE sub-assemblies (Hardware, Mechanical, Robotics and Embedded Software)
* Support definition of the types of product and output the ATE needs to deliver
* Support to Prototyping of ATE sub-assemblies
* Digital Electronics and interfacing of ATE subassemblies / Support to creation of ICD
* Support development of White, Grey and Black box solution and the multi-level configuration to form the overall solution
* Assembly of ATE rack and sub-components (Electrical and Mechanical)
* Support to integration and test approach
* Integration and progressive test of ATE sub-assemblies
* Work with suppliers and third parties to assess, procure and configure OTS equipment for the ATE solution
* Support evidence based approach to demonstrate a fully functional and 'fit for purpose' test facility.

* DOORS module for requirements.
* Design pack of sub-assemblies.
* Design Traceability to requirements via VCRM
* ATE sub-assemblies.
* Sub-assemblies test reports.
Qualifications / skills required
Essential
* Hardware Design,
* Mechanical Design and assembly,
* Software Design and Development,
o Python & Robot Framework experience
o Embedded C, C++
* UI / Interface Design,
* Prototyping and proof of concept,
* Design and implementation of Analogue, Electronics solutions, and the required interfaces,
* Build and assembly of ATE in accordance with the design,
* Integration and Test experience,
* Scenario lead testing and stakeholder acceptance
* Communications protocols (including Ethernet, Serial, USB, I2C, SPI).
Desirable
* Requirements management and DOORS use
* Systems Engineering lifecycle experience
* Awareness of cryptographic methods.
Undesirable
* Heavy reliance on LabView and Test Stand
