The Team
You will be working within a kitchen team of 8 lead by the Head Chef, also support the front of house team at the food serviced outlets throughout the day.
The role
The University is looking for a kitchen assistant to join our Catering team and support the team in providing meals to students, staff, and visitors. The role currently available is a 37-hour post working from either 7 am – 3 pm or 8 am - 4 pm, 5 days out of 7, term time only. The work is mainly Monday to Friday, but does include some scheduled weekend work at various points during the year.
Experience of working in a catering and hospitality environment is essential, and some knowledge of food hygiene and food allergens is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be given. High levels of personal hygiene are essential.
Key requirements
1. Knowledge of basic food preparation tasks
2. Knowledge of basic Food safety and health and safety requirements
3. Able to work as part of a team.
