Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 or small group academic and emotional support Assist teachers with behaviour management and learning strategies Support with planning and delivery of lessons across various subjects Cover short-term staff absences by stepping up to lead group sessions Encourage positive behaviour and foster emotional resilience in students Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents where appropriate Uphold school policies and contribute to a nurturing, safe environment Requirements for Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant: School-based experience as a Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant is essential Must be a driver with access to a vehicle and business insurance, this role is based on Mileage Paid Knowledge and experience in working with students with SEN, particularly SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and ODD CACHE Level 2 or 3 / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant (desirable) Calm, adaptable, and confident in managing challenging behaviour Enthusiastic, professional, and dedicated to inclusion An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one) Why Join GSL Education?
