We are a well-established recruitment agency looking for dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistants to join a mainstream secondary school in Merton for September 2025. Role Overview: As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students with their academic progress. You will assist in the delivery of lessons, provide one-on-one support for students with additional needs, and help maintain a positive and productive learning environment. This role is ideal for graduates who are looking to gain hands-on experience before possibly progressing into a teaching career.
Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons and support students with their learning
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help
Support students with varying abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN)
Help maintain classroom discipline and assist with behaviour management
Work alongside teachers to monitor and track students' progress
Contribute to the creation of learning resources and assist with administrative tasks
Build positive relationships with students and encourage their academic and personal developmentRequirements:
A recent university graduate (preferably in a subject related to the curriculum)
A passion for education and helping students reach their potential
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build rapport with students and staff
A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning
Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
