Patient Access Receptionist
Opening date: 24 May 2026.
The Patient Access Reception Service is responsible for providing an efficient and high-quality elective access reception service to support the Trust. This role involves ensuring a comprehensive and confidential service is delivered to patients and relatives, supporting and working with other disciplines of staff and providing a friendly and approachable patient reception service.
Main duties
Develop and maintain effective relationships with users of the Reception Service through excellent communication and customer service skills, particularly with the Health Records and wider Booking and Scheduling Team.
Qualifications
* Education to GCSE or equivalent including Mathematics and English
* Computer skill qualification such as ECDL, CLAIT or relevant experience
* Customer Service or Administration qualification such as NVQ or relevant experience
* Hold a qualification or be currently working towards a qualification in business administration or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working in a reception or administrative role preferable in a health care environment with patient contact
* Previous experience of data entry/input
* Experience of service and individual performance tracking and management processes
* Knowledge of a hospital based Patient Administration System
