The Flood Risk Planning Officer is responsible for assessing and managing the flood risk implications of new developments, ensuring that planning applications comply with relevant legislation and policy. The role supports sustainable development by minimising flood risk to people and property, providing expert advice on drainage, including SuDS (sustainable drainage systems), surface water management, and mitigation measures, and contributing to the preparation and delivery of local flood risk management strategies.
