To grow our Bridge business in Bristol, we are looking for a Senior Engineer to join us. Working on local projects and supporting our Bridge management team, you’ll be designing and checking work on our Bridge structure projects.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Designing, checking or assessment tasks across a wide range of both new and existing bridges or other complex structures
2. Liaising with clients and mentoring junior staff to ensure your projects are delivered on time and to budget with a high standard of technical quality
3. Production of engineering design and details, or for undertaking checking or assessment work in accordance with project requirements
4. Preparation of analysis models, calculations, written reports, and other contract deliverables, and for checking similar work by other engineers
5. Working closely with our CAD/BIM technicians to prepare 2D and 3D design drawings and models
6. Delivering your work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through a conscientious approach to self-checking
7. Visits to site as required

On top of that, you’ll have:
8. A master's degree in either civil or structural engineering and be chartered with either the ICE or IStructE or an equivalent institution
9. Proven post-graduate experience in a design environment working on bridges, heavy civil, or other complex structures
10. Some experience of motivating, supervising, and coordinating project teams.
11. Experience of leading on-site structural inspections, supervision of construction activities, resolving technical issues and managing key stakeholders.
12. Familiarity with UK design standards, Eurocodes and CDM regulations
13. The inter-personal skills and aptitude to work collaboratively in a diverse multi-disciplinary team
14. Good communication skills, both verbal and written
15. The ability to demonstrate a deep understanding and enthusiasm for civil / structural engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
