The Opportunity
We're looking for a dynamic and commercially savvy Head of Trade Sales to lead our Internal and Trade Sales team. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving sustainable sales growth, developing strategy, and maximising performance across key accounts. You'll work closely with the Sales Director to shape and deliver strategies that support our business goals and strengthen our market position.
Key Responsibilities
* Achieve year-on-year growth in trade sales through robust account management and effective sales strategies.
* Build and maintain strong relationships at director and regional level within the electrical wholesale sector.
* Lead, mentor, and support the Distribution Sales Manager, supervisors, and wider sales team.
* Ensure the team has the right tools, training, and support to exceed targets.
* Develop and deliver comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, including budgets and forecasts.
* Collaborate with Technical teams to identify product opportunities and strengthen our value proposition.
* Maximise business development opportunities by leveraging market knowledge and optimising the sales process.
* Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Technical teams to align goals and drive results.
About You
* Proven experience leading and developing successful sales teams, ideally within electrical wholesale, trade, or related B2B sectors.
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering consistent sales growth and managing budgets.
* Significant experience managing high-value accounts at senior levels.
* Skilled in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies.
* Deep understanding of trade sales, distribution channels, and the electrical wholesale sector.
* Analytical skills to interpret market data and identify new opportunities.
* Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the gravitas to engage at director level.
