Job Description:
Riviera Automotive is seeking a meticulous and resourceful Parts specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and ordering a wide range of automotive parts specifically for our vehicles. Your ability to find cost-effective solutions and work within tight timescales will be essential to ensuring our cars are refurbished efficiently and to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
Vehicle Refurbishment Parts Procurement:
* Accurately identify and order parts required for vehicle refurbishment based on inspection reports and repair assessments.
* Utilize online resources, supplier catalogues, and industry databases to locate required parts for a variety of vehicle makes and models.
* Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
Supplier Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers specializing in parts for resale vehicles.
* Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, price, and delivery times.
* Research and identify new suppliers to expand our sourcing options and ensure competitive pricing.
Inventory Management (Refurbishment Focused):
* Monitor parts inventory levels for common refurbishment items and ensure adequate stock is maintained.
* Track orders and ensure timely delivery to meet vehicle refurbishment schedules.
* Manage returns and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
Cost Control :
* Scour the internet and supplier networks to find the most cost-effective parts for our vehicles.
* Implement strategies to reduce parts procurement costs.
* Maintain accurate records of all orders and expenses related to vehicle refurbishment.
Time Management (Refurbishment Timelines):
* Work efficiently to meet tight refurbishment deadlines and ensure parts are available when needed.
* Prioritize tasks and manage multiple orders for various vehicles simultaneously.
* Communicate effectively with the refurbishment team regarding parts availability and delivery schedules.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in parts ordering or procurement, in the automotive industry.
* Strong knowledge of automotive parts and components for a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
* Excellent research and negotiation skills, with a focus on cost-effectiveness.
* Proficiency in using online resources and supplier databases.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, especially in meeting refurbishment timelines.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to maintain accurate records.
