The Role
Amidst overlapping crises—overcrowded prisons, high reoffending rates, a housing shortage, and a skills gap in construction—the award-winning Prisoners Building Homes (PBH) programme offers a 'triple-win' solution.
PBH unites public and private sectors to unlock land for affordable, quality, low-carbon, sustainable homes, while creating job opportunities for prisoners, aiding their reintegration, and reducing reoffending. Initiated by the South West Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs), it is now a national programme supported by various government departments and agencies.
Since its national launch in September 2024, PBH has received over 100 sites for 700+ homes, working with 14 housebuilders across 13 prisons, employing 124 prisoners and ex-prisoners.
We seek an Administrative Officer to support the Programme Delivery Manager. Experience in housing or local government sectors is advantageous but not required.
You will monitor emails, handle enquiries, and utilize strong IT skills for data input, database interrogation, note-taking, and document writing. You will coordinate meetings and schedules to ensure project smoothness.
