Come and support your local community by joining Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team at Kingston Primary School - Kenneth Road entrance, Thundersley.
Assist in ensuring the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from school, in the mornings and afternoons.
We are seeking a punctual, reliable, approachable individual who enjoys engaging with the public.
This position involves approximately 6 hours 15 minutes per week, with holiday pay included. You must be available during the 39 weeks of the academic year, between 08:00 - 09:00 and 14:45 - 15:45, depending on site requirements. Uniform, equipment, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of people with disabilities, especially mobility-impaired pedestrians.
* Maintain contact with the schools attended by children crossing at your site.
* Assess risks regularly and report any issues or defects.
* Assist in preparing reports on incidents at the crossing.
* Maintain the condition of uniform and equipment, requesting replacements as needed.
* Give clear signals to drivers to stop traffic and ensure pedestrians are safe to cross.
